Uganda Tourist Visa Requirements
Uganda Single Entry Tourist Visa
This visa is for travelers visiting Uganda for tourism, family visits, or medical treatment. It is a single-entry visa valid for up to three months.
Important Note: Your visa approval is valid for 90 days from the date of approval. If you do not travel within this period, the approval is automatically canceled, and you must reapply.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted exclusively through the official Uganda Immigration Portal. The process is straightforward and can be completed in a few steps:
Start your application on the Immigration Portal.
Accept the terms and select your visa type, category, and subcategory.
Complete the application form and upload all required documents. An application ID will be automatically generated.
Make your payment (if required upfront).
Receive your approval letter via email once your application is approved.
Upon arrival in Uganda, you will need to present your approval letter, a copy of all uploaded documents, and your passport for biometric capture at the immigration office or border.
Required Documents
All supporting documents must be in English. You may be asked for additional documents during the process.
For Tourism
A scanned copy of your passport bio-data page (valid for at least six months).
A recent passport-size photograph.
Your complete tour plan and travel itinerary/booking.
Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or a clear residential address).
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
For Business (Meetings/Conferences)
A scanned copy of your passport bio-data page (valid for at least six months).
A recent passport-size photograph.
An invitation letter from a host in Uganda, detailing the purpose of your visit and their contact information.
If your host is an individual, their immigration status in Uganda is required.
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
For Studies
A scanned copy of your passport bio-data page (valid for at least six months).
A recent passport-size photograph.
An admission letter from the educational institution.
An invitation letter from the school.
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
The immigration status of your host in Uganda.
For Family Visits
A scanned copy of your passport bio-data page (valid for at least six months).
A recent passport-size photograph.
An invitation letter from your host.
The immigration status of your host in Uganda.
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.

Fees and Renewal
Visa Fee: The cost is USD 50. All fees are non-refundable and subject to a bank charge.
Renewal: The initial visa can be extended for an additional 60 days in two intervals. Renewal applications can be submitted online or in person at the Immigration Headquarters or any Regional Immigration office.
