Your Detailed Serengeti Safari Itinerary

Day 1: From Zanzibar to Serengeti

Your day begins with a private transfer from your beach hotel to the airport for your scheduled morning flight. As your aircraft ascends, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of Zanzibar’s coral reefs before you cross the channel to the Tanzanian mainland. Watch as the landscape below transforms into the vast, golden expanse of the Maasai Steppe. Upon landing at the Seronera airstrip in the heart of the Serengeti, you will immediately feel the shift ,the warm, dry air, the immense sense of space, and the silence broken only by the sounds of nature.

You will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a brief introduction, you will enjoy a welcome picnic lunch in a shaded spot before your adventure begins in earnest. Your very first afternoon game drive will explore the famed Seronera River Valley, a vital water source that attracts an incredible density of wildlife. Your guide will help you spot your first herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, and perhaps even the lazy flick of a lion’s tail in the tall grass. As the sun begins its descent, painting the sky in fiery hues, you will make your way to your safari camp for a delicious dinner and your first incredible night under a blanket of brilliant Serengeti stars.

Day 2: A Full Day of Serengeti Discovery

Today is dedicated to a full and deep immersion into the rhythms of the Serengeti. You will wake before dawn to the sounds of the bush and, after a quick coffee, head out on an early morning game drive. This is a magical time, when the air is cool and predators are at their most active, taking advantage of the “photographer’s light.” You might witness a lion pride on the move, a shy leopard descending from its sausage-tree perch, or hyenas returning from their nocturnal patrols.

You will return to camp for a hearty, cooked breakfast. The late morning is yours to relax and enjoy the camp’s atmosphere. Later, you’ll enjoy another exquisite lunch before setting out for your afternoon game drive. This excursion will take you to a different part of the central Serengeti, perhaps exploring the unique geology of the Moru Kopjes, ancient granite outcrops that are favorite haunts of big cats. As the day cools, the plains come to life again. You will return to camp at sunset, filled with stories and photos from your incredible day of exploration.

Day 3: One Last Glimpse of the Wild & Return to the Coast

You have one last, precious opportunity to experience the magic of the Serengeti. An optional final game drive at dawn offers a chance to track any animals you may have missed or to simply soak in the serene beauty of the plains one last time. After this final safari session, you will return to the camp for a final breakfast and to collect your luggage. Your guide will then transfer you to the Seronera airstrip for your late-morning flight. As your plane ascends, look down for a final, breathtaking view of the endless plains, carrying the indelible memories of the wild back with you to the tranquil shores of Zanzibar or Dar-es-Salaam for your onward journey.
