Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Your journey begins with an early pickup from your Nairobi hotel or the airport, followed by a scenic drive toward Amboseli National Park. The route takes you through open plains, local towns, and traditional Maasai communities. Upon arrival, you check into your lodge and enjoy lunch before setting out on your first game drive. Amboseli is known for its impressive elephant herds and the striking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, which often reveals itself in the late afternoon light. You spend your evening enjoying dinner and relaxing at your lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli
Begin the day with a sunrise game drive, the best time to witness predators returning from a night of hunting and herbivores grazing along the plains. After breakfast, enjoy time to relax at the lodge before heading out again in the afternoon to explore different sections of Amboseli, including the famous swamps that attract large numbers of elephants and birds. Optional activities such as visiting a Maasai village or a guided nature walk can be arranged. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, leave Amboseli and travel north toward Lake Naivasha. The drive takes you through scenic viewpoints and the dramatic descent of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in Naivasha for lunch and later enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the lake where you will spot hippos, watch fish eagles dive for their catch, and observe the vibrant birdlife. Continue to Crescent Island for a guided nature walk among freely roaming giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other plains wildlife. Afterward, return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful evening by the lake.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Optional Hell’s Gate Tour or Leisure Day
After breakfast, you may choose between a relaxed day at your lodge or a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park. The optional excursion offers a unique opportunity to walk or cycle through the park’s dramatic gorges, rock towers, and geothermal landscapes. You can also visit the nearby geothermal spa for a warm natural soak. If you choose to stay at the lodge, you can spend the day relaxing, birdwatching, swimming, or exploring the lakeside environment. Dinner and overnight will be at your Naivasha lodge.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for the Masai Mara, passing through rich agricultural lands and the pastoral Loita Plains where Maasai herders graze their cattle. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch. After settling in, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the vast savannahs of the Masai Mara. This reserve is world-famous for its incredible wildlife density, scenic rolling plains, and dramatic sunsets. Lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, cheetahs, and countless other species can be spotted as you explore. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara
Today is dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara in depth. After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive that takes you to key wildlife areas, including the Mara River, where the Great Migration occurs seasonally. Enjoy your packed lunch in the wilderness while observing the rich diversity of animals that call this ecosystem home. Your guide helps you follow wildlife tracks and understand the behavior of animals you encounter. Optional activities such as a hot-air balloon safari or a visit to a Maasai village can be arranged at an additional cost. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi. Enjoy the changing scenery as you drive back to the city, arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of your unforgettable Kenyan safari adventure.
