Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive north towards Nanyuki, arriving at Ol Pejeta in time for lunch. After checking into your camp or lodge, enjoy an afternoon game drive in this highly protected wildlife sanctuary. Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five, southern white rhinos, chimpanzees, zebras, elephants, and an array of savanna wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day at Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Spend the full day exploring Ol Pejeta with morning and afternoon game drives. Visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, and learn about their rescue stories. You can also visit the enclosure where the last two northern white rhinos live under 24-hour protection. Continue with game drives across the plains, where lions, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes, and rhinos are frequently spotted. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, check out and enjoy a scenic drive south to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive around midday and enjoy lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Explore the lakeshore, forested areas, and open plains where you will spot flamingos (seasonal), white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, zebras, and many bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart after breakfast and drive through the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After settling into your lodge or camp, head out for an afternoon game drive across the rolling plains of the Mara. This reserve is known for lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, and vast herds of plains game. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari
Spend a full day discovering the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Start early to catch predators at their most active. You may carry a picnic lunch to maximize your time inside the reserve. Explore the Mara River, open plains, and forested areas where wildlife concentrates throughout the day. Enjoy excellent opportunities for photography before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive as you exit the reserve. Begin the drive back to Nairobi with a stop en route for lunch or scenic viewpoints. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your 6-day Best of Kenya Safari.
