Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley, enjoying scenic viewpoints along the way. Arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat ride on the lake where you will spot hippos, water birds, and beautiful scenery. You may also visit Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart for the short drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive around mid-morning and proceed on an en-route game drive before checking into your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a full game drive around the lake and forested areas. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos, white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, lions, and abundant birdlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart for the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the vast plains of the Mara. The reserve is home to elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, and numerous savanna species. Enjoy the golden-hour wildlife viewing before returning to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari
Spend this day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Start early to capture the best wildlife moments as predators are most active at sunrise. You may take a picnic lunch to enjoy inside the reserve as you explore areas rich in wildlife including the Mara River, plains, and forested sections. In the afternoon, continue spotting elephants, zebras, lions, and giraffes before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Masai Mara – Nairobi Departure
After breakfast, check out and enjoy one final short game drive as you exit the reserve. Drive back to Nairobi with a stop en route for lunch or gifts. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon for airport transfer or hotel drop-off, marking the end of your 5-day Best of Kenya Safari.
