Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
Kenya has modernized its entry process, requiring all visitors to obtain an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before their journey. This digital permit is mandatory for all travelers, including infants and children.
How to Apply: The application is done online through the official Government of Kenya website. The process is straightforward and requires you to upload digital copies of your passport, a passport-type photo, your travel itinerary, and proof of accommodation.
Processing Time: The standard processing time is approximately three business days (72 hours), though we recommend applying at least two weeks in advance. An expedited option is available for urgent travel.
Exemptions: Citizens of several countries, including those from the East African Community, some African nations, and certain Commonwealth countries like South Africa and Singapore, are exempt for specific periods.
Tanzania Tourist e-Visa
Tanzania offers a convenient Tourist e-Visa system that simplifies the entry process for most nationalities. This visa is perfect for a classic Tanzania safari packages and beach holiday.
Types of Visas:
- Ordinary Visa (Single Entry): This is the most common option, issued for a single visit of up to 90 days.
- Multiple Entry Visa: This is ideal for those who need to enter Tanzania multiple times within a year, with each stay not exceeding 90 days.
How to Apply: The application is submitted online through the Tanzania Immigration Department portal. You will need to provide personal details, a passport copy, and a digital photo.
Zanzibar: As part of Tanzania, Zanzibar follows the same visa regulations. Visitors to Zanzibar can obtain a Tourist e-Visa for entry to both the mainland and the islands.
Uganda Tourist e-Visa
Uganda has also transitioned to a mandatory electronic visa system. All foreign visitors must obtain a pre-approved e-Visa before traveling. This is the first step to your gorilla trekking adventure and other thrilling Uganda safari packages.
How to Apply: The application must be completed online through the official Uganda Immigration Portal. You will need to upload a copy of your passport, a recent photo, and supporting documents based on your purpose of visit (e.g., tour plan, invitation letter).
Note: Upon arrival, you must present your approved e-Visa letter, along with your passport and Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, for biometric capture and final processing.
Rwanda: Tourist Visa
Rwanda’s visa policy is one of the most straightforward in Africa. Citizens of most countries can obtain a visa on arrival, which is a significant advantage for those looking for seamless travel.
Visa on Arrival: Citizens of all African Union, Commonwealth, and Francophonie countries can receive a visa on arrival at any entry point. This is valid for up to 30 days and can be extended.
e-Visa: For added convenience, you can also apply for an e-Visa online before you travel.
East Africa Tourist Visa: If you plan to visit Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda on a single trip, you can apply for the East Africa Tourist Visa. This single visa allows for multiple entries across all three countries for a period of up to 90 days.
