6 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari

The 6 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari starts from Kigali to Volcanoes National park for Gorilla trekking and Nyungwe forest. You will enjoy the most scenic and beautiful parks of Rwanda where you will enjoy nature and primate viewing in the famous volcanoes national park, you will get face to face with endangered Mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys plus several wildlife and the enjoy chimp trekking in Nyungwe forest national park

Day 1: Pick up from the airport

You will be met by our driver/guide on arrival at Kigali International Airport and depart to Nyungwe Forest National Park which is strategically located in South Western part of Rwanda. You will have stopovers within local markets for some shopping with lunch in a restaurant then proceed to Nyungwe National Park arriving late in the afternoon with some walking around your lodge with late afternoon relaxation with Dinner and overnight on Full Board.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest

Take breakfast and drive to Nyungwe forest national park offices for the briefing about the primates Thereafter enter into the tropical rain-forest to look for the shy primates.

While searching for the chimpanzees you will spot almost all the native 13 primates. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon take the canopy walk to spot the other primates and birds at the closer view

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest

You will have to wake up very early, have morning breakfast, you will then report at the ranger station ready for your Chimpanzee trekking.

Trekking will start with the briefing about do’s and Don’ts by the park guide who will later take you in the forest for your chimpanzee experience. You will then meet our close relatives in the jungle afterwards you will be driven to Kibuye on Lake Kivu for overnight, Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4:Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be required to wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then report to the park headquarters where you are briefed about the dos and don’ts during this Gorilla trekking activity. The gorilla trekking will involve passing through thick forest thus you are recommended to be in fit condition. After trekking the gorillas, you will have only one hour to stay with this ape and take as many pictures as possible with the company of your Ranger/guide. Then you will walk back to the park head quarters where you will drive back to the lodge after trekking for your lunch with afternoon relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Rwanda Gorillas Trekking and Cultural Visit to Gorilla Guardians Village

After breakfast, you will report at the park office well prepared for your gorilla trekking experience. Attend the briefing by the ranger guide about the DO’S and DON’TS of gorilla trekking.You will then enter the forest for your gorilla tracking adventure, which may take 3-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in their natural habitat. You will stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour once you encounter them.

In the evening, you will Community visit to Gorilla Guardians Village where you will experience and enjoy local cultural entertainments, meet the Banyarwanda community members who will welcome you with a poem and perform traditional dances and Drama taking you through their culture.You will then return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 6:Transfer back to Kigali for departure

After breakfast,proceed to Kigali International Airport to catch up with your departure flight if on schedule or to your Hotel.
